How do I pay for the class?
1. You can pay the balance in full, or in two (2) installments. The first is due before class to hold your seat and the other is due halfway through class.
2. Interest free financing is available through ChaseHealth or CareCredit for qualified students. For more information or to submit a 5 minute application and get an answer within minutes, call 877-432-3555.
3. We work with the NC WIA Program, as well as the Community Action Program in Martin, Beaufort and Pitt Counties. These programs are for the unemployed and the underemployed to enable them to become self sufficient and help support their families. If you are interested in attending the DA I session with the assistance of the Community Action Program please contact Bridget Dobson at 252-531-9485. If you do not live in either of these 3 counties she will be able to give you the contact person in your county for this program.
4. Option 4 is only if you have exhausted the first 2 options, first. We are able to accept a minimum deposit of $500 for you to begin the class. You then must sign a Truth in Lending form which commits you to a continued payment every other week thereafter, for a specified amount, to be paid off by your graduation date. (A larger deposit means your bi-weekly payment will be lower) If you enroll in this program and you miss a payment, you will not be allowed entry back to class until your payment has been made.
5. If you are unemployed, you may be eligible to receive state funded assistance to attend this class. Please contact your local unemployment office in your county regarding the Workforce Investment Act and the Joblinks Program.
What is included in the course fee?
Course
fees include tuition, textbook and workbooks and other handout
materials.
Certifications for both Programs include
OSHA, CPR, HIPAA and Medical Office Emergencies.
What do I do if I don’t pass the final exam?
Most
students pass if they follow all of our guidelines, but if you
don’t, we allow each student one re-test in
each course. Please note that all re-tests must be completed
no later than ninety days following the last class meeting. If
you are not able to pass the test within ninety days you can
re-enroll for at a 50% reduced fee for a period up to six months
following your first course. After this six-month period,
you are required to pay full tuition minus the cost of books
unless the textbook has changed.
How many classes can I miss to still pass the
class?
A student may be granted one leave of
absence per course. A leave of absence must be requested
in writing prior to the beginning of the requested leave
and must be approved by the school director. A copy of the
approved leave of absence request will be maintained in the
student's academic file.
The student must make up the time missed
due to an approved leave of absence during the next scheduled
term in order to satisfy the graduation requirements. A leave
of absence is discouraged except in emergency situations.
What do I need to bring to my first class?
Don’t
forget to bring pens, paper, a calculator and a highlighter. Dress
comfortably. You may also
want to bring a sweater in case the room is too cool for you.
What is the inclement weather policy?
Our
inclement weather policy tends to follow the cancellation
policy of the local community colleges. For
example, if Wake Technical Community College is closed then
we will be closed for our Wake County classes. Weekend
classes will receive instructions from their instructor. Students
are also encouraged to call the school office at 877-432-3555.
